I am trying to remove KAZAA from my computer as just don't use it anymore.

However, I keep getting a message stating:

"Close any running programs
empty temporary folders
check internet connection (internet-based setup)

Error code 6001"

What the hell does this mean??

I have emptied my temporary folder and closed running programs when trying
to remove the damn thing. And my connection is good.

I have norton internet security and think this might have something to do
with it.

Whatever that is, I'm not sure.

Can someone please help? This is driving me crazy.

Thanks

It would be best to boot into Safe Mode, search for the file,
then delete it.

have you got any advice as to how to simply remove it rather than see
websites which may/may not even work??

i mentioned i had norton internet security. can someone tell me if this has
perhaps blocked any connections or something??

The site I posted is a trusted source. If you don't want to visit the other
sites, then please contact the software vendor (KAZAA) for removal
instructions.

how is it a trusted site when there is a risk that it could casue the
internet connection to be broken????

It's trusted because it explains you in advance, instead of hiding the
outcome. Apart from cautioning you, it does provide the fix. It's your duty
to do appropriate backups whenever you do install/uninstall a software.

Further more, Kazaa is not a Microsoft product.
