Can't remove a program, please help!!

I am trying to remove a program from my computer. However, I keep getting a
message stating:

"Close any running programs
empty temporary folders
check internet connection (internet-based setup)

Error code 6001"

Can someone please help?

Is the name of the program secret?

Sounds like you're trying to uninstall some kind of spyware. Why else would
an internet connection be needed to uninstall.

Try booting into Safe mode and uninstalling (you could also try
stopping various tasks in task manager) or as suggested above, if its
spyware, try one of the anti-spyware packages. Microsoft have one
(havent tried it) and Lavasoft have a good free one - www.lavasoft.nu
