why does my burner keep failing with a
"power calibration error"

what has caused this problem and how can i fix it???

Sounds to me like your PSU (power supply unit) is providing inadequate power
to your CD drive therefore fluctuating the current it can output. If you
have upgraded your PC since you purchased it, it is probably time to
purchase a PSU of higher wattage.
