I need help with windows

This could have started after sp2 was installed but i have it on auto update
so i dont really pay attention to whats being installed but i have a really
bad problem where if i try to open any folder on my desktop or get into my c
drive or anything else in my computer a message pops up that says windows
explorer has encountered an error or whatever else that thing says and it has
the send and dont send error report buttons on it. iv sent numourous error
reports about this as it keeps happening and i have no way to fix it. i have
very limited use of my pc when i cant get in to any of the folders
 
When the error appears there is a detail button, what does it say?
 
AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: msvcrt.dll
ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180 Offset: 00037fd4
that is the error id when i go into more details on it
