Yes, uninstall Norton first. Just follow the prompts for the AVG Free
installation. It's fairly straightforward.

MadDog has given you the basic answer.

However De-Nortoning a system often requires more than just using the
Uninstall procedure from Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs. You
invariably have to run a supplementary uninstaller to get rid of the
rest of it.

Norton supplementary uninstallers:
RNAV2003 for 2003 and earlier
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2001092114452606?OpenDocument&seg=hm
SYMNRT for 2004 and later.
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...6&nsf=tsgeninfo.nsf&view=docid&dtype=&prod=&v

Good luck

*Almost* invariably.

Perhaps this is a difference in the corporate version, but I
uninstalled it successfully 13 months ago by using just Add/Remove
Programs.

My experience is that the Norton Corporate version is fully functional
and runs seamlessly on most systems.

The retail version of NAV is a different story. An ongoing problem for
years has been that Norton products have been allowed to digging much to
deeply into the OS which produces undesirable effects. It' to the point
now, that's it's hard to provide support on systems with retail Norton
applications installed.

There are several very good inexpensive and free AV applications
available that will do just as good of a job and cause much less
problems.
