I Program MSASW so that Kazaa of its revisions excluded,
but when running in automatic form, The program erase
music's files (MP3). When my daughter see what was
happening, She turn off the PC.
Then when lighting it, the files were not, I am not any
log, neither files in quarantine, but the PC continues
indicating the same busy capacity. As I can recover the
files MP3?

Can you tell whether the files are physically present in the quarantine
sub-folder of the Microsoft Antispyware installation folder?

They may be there, and the action taken of switching the machine off may
have prevented the program from properly recording their presence.

I don't know of any automated way to retrieve them, but I believe that the
files are simply renamed. This is small consolation for large numbers of
files, but playing them and renaming may be an option.

OMG same here. After using the MSASW has deleted with the
so called spyware - 3000 music tracks YES three thousand.
Wow not too popular with my daughter.

Have been given a web site that supposed to retrieve
deleted files. Not tried it yet as will probably retrieve
the maybe spyware also.

Hi

Try this from help file, this can take hours to restore.

IMPORTANT, move all restored files before you restart !!!!

This behavior really stinks, I think MS managers have
promised RIAA something
but this only makes users really angry...............

"Restoring Quarantined Programs
If you have accidentally quarantined a program, you can
remove it from quarantine and restore it to its original state.

"How to restore a quarantined item

1. From the main screen, or any of the screens with the
toolbar, click Spyware Scan (this is the product icon).

2. On the top right of the screen under the Take me to...
section, select Spyware Quarantine.

3. A list of all items in your quarantine is displayed.
Select the item you would like to un-quarantine and when the
item appears in the right details window, select
Un-quarantine Threat. This restores the item to its original
state before it was quarantined.

4. To un-quarantine multiple items in the quarantine, select
each item and click Un-quarantine All Checked Threats at the
bottom of the screen.

5. After you un-quarantine an item you should restart your
computer to make sure the restored application runs."

plun, I think I can say with assurance that the RIAA has nothing to do with
this issue.

I know it looks bad, but lets not add to the FUD.

Sheila--try the programs facilities to retrieve from quarantine--as plun has
posted them.

Please leave it sitting at the screen for removal from quarantine for a good
long time--perhaps hours.

Please also copy or move the files from their normal location before
rebooting the machine.
I'm giving this advice because of a report early in the beta that data was
lost after a retrieval from quarantine on a subsequent reboot. I have not
verified this information--I'm simply posting it as a safety precaution. In
my own experience, both retrieval from quarantine, and the safety of the
data thereafter, have gone routinely.
