I like the Asus A7N8X!

Just a complement to Asus on their A7N8X motherboard. I have just recently
built a computer with a used (got it for a great price) A7N8X v2.0,
Athlon XP2500 mobile, Samsung PC3200 512MB RAM, older nVidia TNT 64 video
card, WD 80GB 8MB cache IDE hard disk, generic 300wt power supply, Lite-On
CDRW.

I currently have the XP2500-M overclocked to 2250MHz on a 180MHz FSB. Very
stable and runs cool at core voltage 1.65v. This motherboard does
everything right. I have another computer I built using an Abit NF7-S and
have been unable to solve three main hassles with it: when cold the MB
requires me to hit the reset switch to get it to boot, it has never
properly been able to suspend to ram, and there is no way of controlling
fan speeds. So the Asus outshines the Abit for me in those three
respects.

I currently run the Asus board using Windows98SE but I am about to load
Vector Linux on that beast and am looking forward to a significant
improvement. Under Win98SE it absolutely flies compared to using Windows
XP on the Abit board (same processor and speed). I guess that just goes to
show what a complicated dog WinXP really is.

Again - congrats to Asus, at this point in time I think I might switch
from Abit to Asus for any future motherboards I purchase.
