Speedy, please post a link. Thanks.

I don't think so. Wasn't it in the EULA?

Look at it from another angle. Micros~1 needs to make, oh, say $20 billion a
year. To the extent pirated copies of Windows cut into that figure, Micros~1
has to get more money for each copy they DO sell. If piracy could be
eliminated, Micros~1 would, no doubt, lower the price. Heck, the price of
Vista may get down to $20.00!

In the alternative, Micros~1 might NOT lower the price of their products.
Then I, as a Micros~1 stockholder, would be doubly blessed.

Whichever -- thanks for doing your part.

EULA: End User License AGREEMENT

It's not an agreement unless both parties agree to it. You cannot agree
to what you have not seen.

I (along with many others) was not presented with the EULA.

Have you ever sold a business?

Sometimes the monetary value of "good will" exceeds (by a large margin)
the value of all other business assets.

If Microsoft continues to barter away its good will for transient gain,
you might want to look into other stock options.

Hello Speedy
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
My thoughts/opinions.

A Scottish writer once said:
"If a man deceive me once, than shame on him; if he deceive me twice, than
shame on me"

So they admit that WGA checks in daily - but not if firewall stops it?

MS can come into my computer and shut it down when they want to - I want, I
want - now!
They would do this if WGA had a sudden brainstorm and went ape-shxt in my
computer.

WGA is a pilot programme - so all MS users are to be their unpaid testers.
At least we have a choice with ANNOUNCED beta stuff. Lets hope there is an
emergency and its killed.

Should have given users more info re daily interaction and looking for ways
to communicate etc etc - what a shame someone had not thought of doing that
in the first place - a load of MSspeak after being caught with their
trousers down.

They are going to 'tweak it' - once every two weeks is too often for me.
Why - am I going to go out and buy a counterfeit version?

Only 60% - I bet they were disappointed with that.

Oh so they also admit that they did not explain clearly that it was designed
to 'phone home'.

So if they are going to tweak this so it checks in every two weeks what is
the point of the 90 days - why not do all the checks every 90 days and be
done with it?
Its just another sop to make us all feel that 90 days is more reasonable?
