I inadvertantely installed 2 copies of XP on the C drive?!

When I boot it asks which copy I want to boot from - I want to remove the
'extra' installation. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.

What you would need to do is open the msdos.sys and change the BOOTMULTI=1
to BOOTMULTI=0

the 0 flag disables the Multiple boot option. Here is the Microsoft

I'm sorry but this is incorrect. MSDOS.SYS has nothing to do with
Windows XP. You are probably thinking of the System Configuration
Utility since the program to run this is msconfig.

Start>Run>msconfig [enter]
Click on the Boot.ini tab and then the button to check boot paths. Or
open boot.ini in Notepad and edit it.
