I completed a large document, and was messing with the footer, accidentially
deleted the content of the document(!) by clicking on the undo which left me
with just the title. used redo and was redoing the 560 actios with my mouse,
thought I would use enter button but did not redo so undid the two enters and
lost the rest of the 560 redos .. I hope this makes sence to somone out there!

Please assist I could not face having to retype the document i am using Word
on XP Pro
Thanks

Outside of Word, you might want to look for the Temp file
for this document.

Click Start/Search?All files or folders
In "all or part of the file name," type ".tmp" (without
the quotation marks)
Click on "more advanced options"
Select "search system folders," "search hidden files and
folders," "search subfolders," and "search tape backup."

Click search.

Your results for Word documents will probably come up
first and will be greyed out (indicating a hidden file).
Files will probably read something like ~WRL0497.tmp
You'll need to check modified dates and sizes to see if
you can get back your old stuff. Open one at a time. If
you find your stuff, immediately save it with a new file
name.

If the document is still open and has not been closed, the undo facility
will allow you to restore the document.
If not the chances of recovering any of it are remote.
Did you not save the document regularly? Had you done so you could have quit
the document and opened the last saved version. Get into the habit of
pressing CTRL+S every time you pause for thought.
Do you have the option set to create a backup copy on save? Why not? Set it
now!

If you have that many actions to redo (or undo!), do not click 560 times on
the redo button! Notice the little arrow next to the redo button on the
toolbar? Click on it, a drop down list appears, scroll down to the spot you
want to redo from and click on it. 560 actions redone in one click.

Or did I misunderstand your situation?
