When I boot computer for first time, I have no sound at all. I went to Device Manager and my sound card was installed and working properly with no conflicts. When I restart my computer, the sound works just fine. I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem, but I noticed that when I boot for the first time it takes a while before I can start doing anything. When I restart, XP loads up in no time and my sound works. This has been going on far too long and I hope someone can help me
Thanks.

In device mgr.,expand the sound icon,R.click anything related to card
R.click the text),uninstall each,do not restart after each selection, when all ar
uninstalled,close-out,shutdown computer.From here,if empty pci slots exist
move the card to new slot,if none are available, simply restart computer,xp wil
reinstall the card on reboot, chk with windows update for drivers.
