I have problem with audio in a video

When I use a avi or mpeg video I have problem becouse the audio is very short, it is sound a high speed (only audio) while the video play at normal speed. I dont know how I can solve the problem.
Help please
 
hope you saw the post on 30th and 31st. I have just emailed Intervideo to see if theye have a work around. I have a DEll Laptop with WinDVD 4 preinstaalled.
