playing audio from video

I have a video clip that I would like to add pictures to while I am still
playing the video clip audio.

Is there away to separate the audio and video from a video clip? So I can
change what is seen, but still hear the audio?

Drag the video clip to the 'Audio Music' track
and right click / mute the 'Audio' track. Then
you can split the video, add pictures and
delete portions of the video to make room.

Just to clarify....

In timeline view...drag 'another' copy of
the video clip to the Audio/Music track.
Then mute the copy that's currently on the
Video track....split it and insert your pictures.
