Saving the audio only from a video file.

I have a video conferencing camera that makes high quality video .asf files.
It has a very good microphone. I would like to use the video conferencing
camera to create my audio file. I tried to drag my .asf file into the audio
section of Windows Movie Maker in hopes that it would allow me to save it as
an audio file, but the only option I got was to save it as a .mswmm.

Is there any way to convert an .mswmm to some kind of audio file. I have a
program called AVI MPEG MOV RM WMV iPod 3GP MP4 Flash Converter but that
seems to be just for converting video formats.

I would be most grateful for any enlightenment. Thanks.

No...you don't want the .mswmm file...that's
the project file (only used in Movie Maker
for future editing)

Try the following steps:

In Windows Movie Maker 2.1....
To save only the audio track of a video clip...
drag the video to the "Audio/Music" track.
Then go to...File / Save Movie File / ect...ect......

This will result in a .wma audio file. Be sure
to drag the clip all the way to the left on the
timeline or you will have dead air at the
beginning.
