I have all boxes unchecked but still PC is pingable

I have all the boxes that refer to TCP/IP,Incoming ICMP
unchecked, I have both ZA pro and NIS running and when I
go to check my network security, I find that I am
pingable, does this mean I am vulnerable to Hacks?

My Firewall, router, shows no open ports, I even log on
chat rooms as 192.168.1.11 from this PC

Thanks for help resolving this security issue.

Hi Jason,

Being pingable doesn't mean you are open to hacks. It just means that your
computer is responding to queries on the network. Yes this can be blocked.
How, it depends on the software (or hardware firewall) that you use.
Blocking "ICMP - echo reply" (ping) doesn't do much for security...

You can't really go on the internet with private IPs (e.g. 192.168.1.11 ).
Somewhere along the line before your get to your ISP usually you private IP
address (192.168.1.11) will be translated to public IP (e.g. 193.2.1.66).
Using private IPs is time to time convenient way to connect to the Internet
(e.g. I have 11 PCs at home but only 1 public IP. This way I can connect
with all of them to the Internet). Anyway using private IPs should not be
considered a security feature.

If your pinging your public IP. It's your router that is responding to
the ping request. Not the computer. If your using the private IP (
192.168.x.x ) and have ICMP tunred off. you shouldn't get a response.
