I have a weird problem with InstallShield that came with Windows X

My registry got corrupted last week and I repaired everything except a few
items. All my Ubisoft programs had gotten corrupted and unplayable and
uninstallable. I contacted Ubisoft and got the instructions on how to do a
manual uninstall (all files and registry entries). Now when I try to
re-install the Ubisoft software, InstallSheild starts and when the status bar
reaches the far right of the InstallShield Preparing Setup splash screen,
InstallShield terminates, and the software will not install. This happens
not just for the Ubisoft software that was installed when my registry got
corrupted, but for ANY Ubisoft software that uses InstallShield to install.
InstallShield will still install all other programs from any other software
devloper.

What can I do to fix this problem? My version of XP is Version 5.1 (Build
2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158 : Service Pack 2) and I don't know what the
version of InstallShield is on my computer.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

That didn't seem to help. I didn't see anything in the intalled programs for
the installshield cleanup utility that had anything to do with any of the
problems that I am having.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Eric,

You should run it anyways.

I tried it, but it did not fix it. Then I tried the registry cleaner from
jv16 powertools and it found 823 invalid entries in my registry. That's 823
more than any other registry cleaner found. As soon as I removed the invalid
entries, everything went back to normal, and Ubisoft software can now be
installed.

Thanks for the help
