I have a record in my database where the record is screwed

I was prompted with a notice that a record had been changed by another user.
I didn't think anything of it and clicked okay. When I reaccessed the
database, the record looked like this:
700i and it should look like this 700Y111. The entire record where data
was entered is displaying it like this. In the table record, the information
is being displayed like this: å æ¥²æ½´
The system won't let me erase or delete this record, won't let me reenter
the information and won't let me create a duplicate.
This database is tied to another and the information is displayed there too.
HELP!!!!
