I got it-now have installation problem

OK, after paying around with everything, i got the key
code to take and the installation process completed. I
got to the part where windows xp asks you to enter the
names of the users-which i did. i pressed next and WOW,
i had the windows xp opening page with our four names
appearing as they should. BUT, when i try to click on
one of those names, i get the following message:

The system can't log you in due to the following error:
The spoecified domain either doesn't exist or could not
be contacted. Please try again or consult your system
administrator.

I did try again and got the same message. I don't have a
system administrator. This is a computer being used at
home and I have no idea what it is telling me to do.
Anyone want to try to help me with this one? I
appreciate it.

When you install XP, there's a point during setup wherein it asks if you
wish to make this computer a part of a workgroup or do you wish to have it
log on to a domain. If you chose domain, the behavior you describe is the
result. I'm not sure this type of problem can be repaired, I think you need
to start over clean and reinstall XP as follows:
Boot with the XP CD in the drive. When you see the message on the boot
screen to "Press any key in order to boot from the CD," do so.

After loading drivers and files, you should be taken to a screen with
the following:

To Setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.
To Repair a Windows XP Installation using Recovery Console press R.
To Quit setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.

In your case, press ENTER.

Agree to the License agreement by pressing F8.

You will then be taken to a screen with two options.

To repair the selected Windows XP installation press R.
To continue installing a fresh copy of Windows XP without repairing,
press ESC.

This will bring you to a partition map where you
can delete, create and format partitions.
Select the drive you wish to format, delete the partition, then create a new
partition, format as desired and continue with XP installation.

I was sooooo close. Thank you for your help. In a

nutshell, what you are telling me is to insert the cd and
start all over again. don't chose repair but do a fresh
install and if i am ever asked if i want o log on as a
domain, don't chose that. it's 10:30pm here, i will give
this a shot in the morning. Thank you for your help.
I'll let you know how things turn out.

installing worked. Now all i have to do is reinstall all
