I get "Usbperf data collection failed" every 8 minutes under Vista

The Vista application event log shows the following error event pretty much
every 8 minutes. Any suggestions as to what is causing this? I have seen the
same complaint posted around the net but no answers.

Thanks, Dave

Sorry, but although this error to have been reported many times, there is no
information about what the error is all about or any fixes.

The only clue I can find is that the usbperf.dll resides in the System32
folder and the description is that it is associated with the "USB
Performance Objects."

You might want to run msinfo32 and check under Components/Problem
Devices to see if anything jumps out at you there.

Thanks for responding. May bring this to the MSDN forums. This forum is
pretty hard to separate the chaf fromt he wheat...too many religious
arguments! My concern is filling up my evnet log with useless info since it
fires so often rather than preserve the space that will eventually wrap with
more useful events.

The MSDN forums are a good idea.

Please let us know if you find out what is responsible for this error.
