I get an error saying cannot start microsoft office outlook

I am on a web page and i click on and email address. Outlook tries to open
and so I can send the email but it gives me a message saying Cannot start
Microsoft Office Outlook. Can't create the item.
 
Which version of Outlook? What browser are you suing?
Try setting another email client as your default then set Outlook back as
default.
