I get an error message when attempting backup of C drive

I am using Windows XP Home Edition. I can make backups of "My Documents" but
when I try to backup the entire C drive I get an error message "please enter
a valid path or ensure adequate access." My user account has administrator
access. What other access do I need? I am using a single computer at home.
I do not need to Restore now, but I want a backup in case I ever do have
trouble.

What program are you using to backup you pc? Different programs will give
different error messages. It may be that the path is wrong for where you are
trying to save the backup or it may be the path is wrong for what you are
trying to backup. It could also be that there is not enough free space at
the location you specify.

I'm using the program that came with Windows XP Home Edition and attempting
to copy to a CD. Won't the program prompt me to use additional CDs instead
of the message I got?

MS Backup can be used to back up to a diskette drive, tape drive or hard
drive.. it is better used to back up user files than an entire operating
system..

Consider a program like Acronis TrueImage to make full system backups..

Unfortunately the backup prgram that comes with XP will not work with
multiple CD's. I also recommend Acronis True Image for backing up the
complete drive or making an image of the drive. Ntbackup (the one you are
using) is great for backing up data like photos to a CD. You can also use
Explorer to copy the files to a CD.
