I.E. Stationery

When I go to new message and choose a particular stationery, it does not
preview or show in the message body. I also downloaded a stationery with
music. The music played, but no graphic in the message body.
I am using MS Vista on a new laptop.
Help!
Thanks, Janet

It's good to hear that your stationary doesn't work, no one cares about
stationary used in emails. It's a useless waste of bandwidth, what should
matter most is what you have to say and not the bling that you add to an
email.

I have the same problem with stationery that Janet does and regardless of
what Jerry thinks we would like to be able to use the stationery.
Does anyone else have a solution to this problem?

Janet, if you go to 'Tools' > 'Options...' > 'Send' tab, and then click the
'HTML settings...' button, the checkbox where it says: 'Send pictures with
messages' should be checked. It is checked by default in both the 'Mail
Sending Format' and 'News Sending Format' sections in the 'Send' tab. If
it's not checked, that could be the problem.

As for the stationery with music you downloaded, can you click on the source
tab? When you look at an image tag in the source, do you have the full
path/filename in it? For example:

<IMG src="E:\stationery\myimage.jpg">

If you do, I can see no reason why the image wouldn't embed and display for
you. I use advanced stationery in OE and Windows Mail and have had no
problem with embedding images in either.

As a matter of policy, I will not answer questions about stationary or
embedded sounds, but that is partly because I never use it, so I'm not
familiar with it.

At least Janet and Sharyn know how to spell stationery.

Tina, I'm not exactly sure that I understand your question. When you create
a new message and apply stationery, what do you do next? Do you save it to
drafts or send it to the outbox? Does the stationery included with Windows
Mail not display for you when you create a new message with it?

Although you have "send pictures" checked and images should embed, what
happens when you try the following simple example to create a new Windows
Mail message?

<HTML><HEAD>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
<IMG src="E:\stationery\myimage.jpg">
</BODY></HTML>

....and of course use the correct path/filename for your image and save the
message to drafts. If the image still won't embed, try the following formats
for the path/filename:

<IMG src="E:/stationery/myimage.jpg">

<IMG src="file:///E:/stationery/myimage.jpg">

Also, test with a .jpg and a .gif to see if that makes any difference.

I'm curious as to whether or not the above works for you to embed an image.

Richard
