Can't move some files and my htm stationery file not showing up

I make my own e-mail stationery from scripts. When I save one of my .htm
files to the
stationery folder in Windows Mail none of them show up as being there. The
ones that come with Vista are there.

I found that if I enter the name of the htm file in the File Name line it
loads correctly and every single one of my other files show up then in that
stationery folder. They stay there as long as I am in Windows Mail. Once I
exit the program and later go back in they are gone again.

I also wanted to put the stationery that comes with Vista in its own folder
in this stationery folder. I can move the .htm files into that folder but
not the images. It won't allow to me.

Can anyone tell me why?

thanks for any help you can give me.

You should be able to see the files in Windows Explorer?

When you say "scripts" - are you talking about javascript?
Do you name the components, same as Microsoft does?
They show the .HTM file and a .JPG file for most of theirs.

In a new email...do you click Format->Apply Stationery->
More Stationery?

All I can suggest is to follow similar coding to MS stationery
and they should show up.

If you can put up the code of one of yours, I can look at it
and see if I can make it visible in my stationery folder.

To open a stationery in Windows Mail I go to Message, New Message Using,
Select Stationery. That brings up the stationery that comes with Vista.
But the ones I created and put in that same folder do not show up in the
dialog box. The path is C:\program files\common files\Microsoft
shared/stationery.

In the Select Stationery dialog box - File Name - I can enter the entire
path of my stationery then it shows up fine in the select stationery with
the rest of them. And also then every single stationery I made show up for
use in that dialog box until I exit Windows Mail. The next time I open
Windows mail and try to select stationery they don't show up again. I can
also follow the Look In and browse to the stationery path. But as I said
when I exit and go in again I have to do the process again.

It is not a big problem doing it that way I just think it is odd they don't
show up when the others do. They are all in the same folder.

My scripts are vbscript language - I embed my images and music and save it
as a htm. file. They scripts do work as I describe above I just don't
understand why they don't show up.
Really not a big deal and thanks so much for your help. I am used to using
XP and probably just not used to Vista yet. ;-)

OK...Try putting your stationery in this path:
C:\User Account\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Stationery

Let us know it that works.

Oh my gosh - it works perfect. Thank you so much. I have created a desktop
shortcut for this folder. I have a lot to learn about the folder structure
in Vista. I so appreciate your help with this.
