i.e. quit working but netscape will work

I am pretty much computer illiterate and all of a sudden my
internet explorer quit connecting to the internet-it gives
the error message: The page cannot be displayed. My cable
company checked everything and then sony checked everything
and they don't know what is up. I can get on the internet
through netscape navigator but it won't let me use my
outlook express for emails sent thru netscape. Anybody
have any idea?

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

I've had exactly the same problems this weekend. I'm about to try Frank's suggested 'scumware' removal sites... I'm praying these will do the trick...

The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
