Dell Inspiron 8200 Win xp Pro

Can anyone help with a screen that more often than not
is a half screen left to right,some web pages are full
size BT.com is full size,whereas BBC.co.uk is half size
on the screen
Any Ideas

Well both are half screen to me but maybe that's just a fluke, I think the
problem you are seeing is caused by the fact that designing a site that
looks "Tidy" is quite a bit harder if you allow the user to resize IE
windows. Tables go all out of sync and generally the content gets to look
very messy if it's shrunk or expanded too much.

Most computers can do 800 X 600 and that's a common size for websites to be
set at, you Inspiron is probably using a much higher resolution and so if
you open IE full screen there's not enough "Pixels" to fill it. I can't
suggest resetting your screen resolution, that kinda defeats the purpose of
having "Windows", and web page designers can't really go higher yet as there
are still millions of PCs that will only do lower resolutions.
