I do not receive delivery reciepts

Outlook 2003. I request a delivery reciept for a message. I know the message
is received in the addressee's Inbox, but I do not receive a delivery reciept.

Read reciepts work as advertised.

Maybe your recipient has turned the function off?

Thanks for the suggestion. For this test I am controlling the recipient
computer and email account and settings, so I don't see anything that should
prevent a receipt. BTW this is my first try to use delivery reciepts, so I
have never seen it work.

You've set the option to "always send a response" in Tools-Options and on
the Preferences tab go to Email Options-Tracking Options, have you?

Delivery receipts are not controlled by Outlook - they are sent by the
receving email server. That server may have delivery-receipts turned off,
because they are a great help to spammers hoping to find valid email
addresses.
