Power on my lap top, as normal the Acer screen come up,
follow with the bios password blue screen, after key in
the password, the screen turn to black and then stay there
forever without go into the windows xp startup screen.

I realised that the harddisk led is on, looks like it is
running very busy.

I tried start up the computer with the boot floopy disk, I
can see all my folders are still there. The problem is
the windows can't be started.

Can anyone help? Is this somthing to do with the virus?

Many Thanks,
Monty.

No, when I selected the safe mode, it happen the same as
the normal start up mode, the harddisk led is on and the
screen just freezed.

By the way, last night I installed the Xp Pro as multi-
boot, the pro version work perfectly...

After I install the Pro version, I tried to boot the home
edition, this time the screen still trun to the black,
instead of stay there forever, it reboot the machine.
(again still can't get into the window startup screen).

Anyone seem this before?

Thanks
Monty
