If all the machines are joined to the domain and no longer part of any
workgroup called "workgroup", I would assume it would disappear from the
Neighborhood (or My Network Places, whatever you like to call it). This is
due to the Browser Service, which gathers data from NetBIOS broadcasts, one
of which are workgroup names, to assemble the Browse list, which you see in
the neighborhood. If no machine is part of the name "workgroup", the Browser
service removes it from the list.

You mean with a laptop? You should be able to see the TestB workgroup or
domain if you put that machine on their network. If they are using WINS,
then configure your laptop or machine to use their WINS server, since the
Browser service works with that too.

Yeah its a laptop. There must be a different reason because before I put
this guys laptop on AD, he was able to log on locally and see the workgroups.
Now he cant see it. THey dont use WINS either. Its like a 20 computer
workgroup.

Nop no firwall. Keep in mind that nothing has changed other then me moving
the laptop to AD. The guy could see the workgroup when he logged on locally
but ever since he was put on AD he cant see the workgroup. I havnt set any
Group Policys regarding this stuff either.

Maybe it's the stronger secured communication channel where it uses only
signed SMB packets between machines in a 2003 domain. The PDC Emulator,
which is the default Master Browser for a domain, maybe rejecting the
broadcast traffic so the Browser service is not hearing it. When we want to
allow communication to legacy (pre-SP4 NT4, Win9x, DOS, Linux, Unix, Macs,
etc) operating systems, we need to disable it. It's just a guess at this
point, but I am suspecting this may have something to do with it. Read up on
the workaround and try it out. If it doesn't work, just set it back:

Windows Server 2003 Domain:
