I can't open the msn chats room

I can't open the msn chat room , I just reinstall windows xp profesional, and a have already ie service pack 1 and java runing but msn chat supose to download a program but nothing hapens, what can i do?

any help please
 
msn chat has been a paid service for quite some time now.
