I can't open Outlook 2007. When I click on the icon, it comes up saying
Microsoft has encountered a problem and needs to close... etc but in the
middle of this dialogue box it has a check box, pre ticked asking to restart
Outlook 2007 and I choose dont send report and it comes up again it's like
going round in circles, then after a few times it says outlook failed to
start in safe mode would you like to run detect and repair? I do this and it
does the same thing it did to start with. It is very important I get this
fixed as I have a load of important emails i need to get to. I have tried
uninstalling and reinstalling, running repair wizards etc. Nothing works!!!

HEEEELLLP!!!!!

Have you:
- run ScanPST.EXE on your PST file?
- remove & recreated your profile in the Control Panel's Mail applet?

No I haven't, how do I do this?

I have also went to the containing folder. In the properties the folder is
marked 'Read Only'. I unmark it and choose apply, when I go back it still
has the read only box checked! again, in circles.

Find ScanPST.EXE on your machine and run it. Direct it to the PST file on
your system and see what happens.
