I can't open CDs - please help.

I know this sounds really dumb but i can't open any cd roms or anything on
laptop with vista. Most of them do not start automatically when i put them
in the drive, but then i cannot find how to open them manually on vista - i'm
used to xp where i just click on my computer and the cd drive is there to
click on, but don't know where this is on vista or what icon looks like or
anything - finding vista very difficult. \can someone help?

Hi debbs,
The Cd icon thingy is also called the drive. If you go onto my computer
there should be a little picture of a cd with e drive beside it. If this
still doesnt work its possible your cd drive isnt installed propperly which
will make it not visable because well....its not there. To do this its
handiest to check if your device manager recognises it. If you cant find your
device manager go to searh and type it in. Check if your drive is installed.
If its not there you need to re install it-there shoul be something about
that somewhere else on this forum. Hope this helps.
