I can't change settings in automatic updates.

When I went in to automatic updates to change some settings, I noticed
that everything is grayed out. I cannot change anything. What is wrong
here?
 
Automatic Updates options are greyed out?:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/aupolicy.htm

If these Policies were turned on automatically, there there is a possibility
of Virus/Malware present in your system. It's advisable to do a through
scan.
