Have you performed a format or any partitioning?

To do this with Windows Software:

click START
click Control Panel
click Administrative Tools
click Computer Management
click Click Disk Management
If you 'see' the external disk in the window
highlight the disk and then right click and go through the format process

Oh I cannot see the new hard disk in the Disk Management
But I can see it in the device manager
and I cannot format the hard disk too ??

Disk Management or use the disk supplied with the external HDD.

If you cannot see it in disk management then there is no way to initialize
the disk. You must run the disk that came with the external driver in order
to get it to work under Windows.

Sorry I am not really know what is the meaning of using the external driver
Is it use the A: to open the PC?
or what
Thanks !

When you opened the packaging that the disk came in, there should have been
either a floppy disk or a CD with the drivers for the external unit. That
software must be installed to use the new external disk, if the disk does
not show up in Disk Management console.
