i cannot edit formulas in Excel (2000) as the program instantly c.

Excel crashes immediately whenever I attept to edit a formula (by pressing
the = button). It looks like a conflict, but the same problem occurs, even
when in safe mode - so identifying where is difficult. Repairing/reinstalling
does not solve the problem.
