I can send new email but I cannot send reply email

Whenever I receive email messages from any of the accounts in outlook 2003 I
cannot send a reply message. It will just sit in the outbox and when you try
to click the send button nothing happens. If you select all the text in that
reply email message and copy it to a new email message, send it and it works.
I've checked the account setting in outlook and they are correct, including
authentication for outgoing mail. I've checked the anti-virus settings and
firewall settings and all are correct. What else could it be?

It could also be a failure to properly authenticate to the outgoing server.

Authentication works on every account for sending and receiving email except
when it is a reply to a recevied email message. Also if you take the replied
email message that sits in the outbox, and never leaves, and select all the
text and copy it to a new emaill message, then send it. It will work every
time. Try that by chosing the reply function and go through the process of
responding to that email and click send, it will go to the outbox, appear
that it will go through and then nothing happens and it stays in the outbox.

Enable logging and post the contents of the OPMLog.log file. That may
contain a clue as to what's happening.
