I can see you (XP/NT4)

Does anybody know of the whereabouts of a good tutorial for networking?

I am trying to connect an older NT4 machine to my XP home machine.

* They can ping each other.
* I have identical logins on both machines.
* I can see the XP maxhine in the NT explorer. But I can't see the NT
machine from the XP unit.
* I am running the standard XP firewall (I suspect the problem may be rooted
here)

Any ideas where to start?

The starting point should be to tell us how you are trying to connect
the two and whether you are using DHCP or fixed IP address.

Hi
The usual stumble blocks to Sharing is Firewalls that bock the LAN Sharing
traffic, and correctly Sharing configuration on each computer.
I do not have any more staff for NT4 (search the Internet for the term,
Microsoft NT4 file sharing)
As for WinXP, maybe this can Help.
Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings,
http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html
As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is
allowed to be shared.

Sorry... Should've mentioned that. It's fixed IP.

The XP machine is running ICS and is set to 192.168.0.1 and the NT machine
is set to 192.168.0.100
