I tried to change the location of my email account to the new localtion by
Maintenance/Store Folder/Change..., then choose the path to store my email
data then press OK, but a message appeared say that
"The directory you selected is not empty. Please select an empty directory
for your new store location.", then
"Windows Mail was unable to write to the regitry so your store will not be
moved"
How can I change the location store to the new location?

Did you create the directory first and make sure it is empty?

What if any antivirus programs, antispyware programs, firewall programs,
and other security programs do you have? Some of them interfere with
writing to the registry.

I spitted my driver to 2 discs, one for disc C (for OS), and one for disc D
(data). By default, the email data stored in discs C, and I want to change
the directory to disc D. Of course, I have already created a new directory
first, and then choose it.

I use Symantec AntiVirus v 10.2 (for Windows Vista version)

Thank you for your replying.

Most of the Norton antivirus programs from Symantec cause assorted
problems in Windows Mail. It's hard to guess how much they copied
from those programs to the one they decided not to put the Norton
name on. However, if it included the part which scans email, you're
likely to have to uninstall the Symantec program to get much improvement,
and may then need to run this cleanup program:

You may even need to remove your email account under Windows Mail,
then restart Windows Mail and add the account again.

If this cures your problem, you may want a replacement antivirus program
that doesn't cause such problems. I recommend either avast! or AVG,
either one with a custom install that tells it to leave out the part that
scans
email.

Hello, I just found a solution to change my email data to the new directory.
But I got a new problem: How can I create multi email accounts in Windows
Mail (like in OE)?

If you mean for different identities, Windows Mail doesn't do much with
identities other than just import them (and then mostly ignore them).
You can create multiple email accounts, but Windows Mail will put any
particular Vista user's mail into only one set of Local Folders regardless
of how many email accounts that user has. To create another account,
click on Tools, then Accounts, then Add, then E-mail Account, then
Next, then go on from there. Only one email account can be set as the
default email account at any one time, though.

You'll need the instructions from your new email provider to know how
to fill in the details of the new account, though.

Don't be shy! What's the solution? I have the same problem and would love
to know how to fix it.

The solution to what? You mean moving the message store to another
hard drive location?
Go to Tools, Options, Advanced, Maintenance, Store Folder.
Do not use an external drive or a network drive.

Which problem? If it's connecting to more than one mail account, I believe
the actual limit is 32 accounts in all (counting both email accounts and
newsgroups accounts). However, the accounts need to be created at
your email provider first, and the details of that vary depending on which
email provider(s) you are using. Note that Windows Mail expects you to
handle multiple accounts for different users a different way, though -
create
more than one Vista user, and then under each Vista user account, create
one or more email accounts under Windows Mail.
