I can not see lables in Word on the screen!

When inserting a sheet of lables as a new document in Word, the lables do no
appear on the screen. I do know that the lables are there, I can select them
and manually add a boarder to each lable, but the standard light gray boarder
is not visible. Is there a command or button that I may have pressed
accidentally? How can I alter my settings to every time I make lables, I can
see their boarders when they first appear as a new document?
