I can not pass thru the Welcome Screen... please help

N

neoLeoX

This is the first time it happens to me...

Once in the welcome screen I pick my user then I type the password an
[Enter]...
...."Loading personal settings"
and suddenly ..."Closing network connections" (While loggout WAV sounds)
and I am back on the welcome screen...

There is a little difference using any the other 2 users but the same
results.. I can't pass thru

"Loading your personal settings",
"Logging off"
"Saving your personal settings",
.... and back to the welcome screen.

Please Help

Have you recently removed any spyware? This can be a by product.

Yes I did... I installed the new adWare SE over a previous version of
adWare
also I installed the Spybot - Search & Destroy on the same session.

I'll read the links you & Rock sent me... I hope there is a solution for
this problem.

If that doesn’t help see this:

It could be a different file than wsaupdater. Look at the registry hive
from another computer on the lan and see what that registry key says.

I could connect to the registry and
I found this entries in [HKLM/Software/Miscrosoft/CurrentVersion/run], this
exe file that seems to be related to some viruses and worms

c:\exec.exe W32/Darby.D
c:\winsecure.exe W32/Spybot-Z
c:\wintask.exe W32/Navidad-B (Emanuel).

I removed them from registry and phisically

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

also i found in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"Userinit"="C:\\WINNT\\system32\\userinit.exe, %SystemRoot%\\iProtect.exe"

I changed it to
"Userinit"="C:\\WINNT\\system32\\userinit.exe"

But when I start the PC the problem is Still there
I still can't logon

Sorry, I don't know what to suggest, but it sounds like your system is
still compromised. In my registry the entry for userinit key reads:
Name Userinit
Type REG_SZ
Data C:\windows\system32\userinit.exe

You might try a repair install:
http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

You will loose all updates but it might get you going again.

If your system is compromised badly another option is a clean install,
reinstalling apps from the original media and data from backups.
