I been "Spy-wared"

My family were recently visited by our nephew and my wife
let him play on our home computer. He downloaded a whole
bunch of stuff with the end result being I'm now loaded
with spyware. I can't even use my browser anymore, no
matter what I do I end up at a WEB site called
SpotResult.com and it states that the WEB site I "tried"
to reach is unavailable. I've downloaded and run every
spyware remover that I can find with no luck. I've added
the ZoneAlarm fire wall (but that's a little too late).
It looks as if I'll have to reformat my drives and
reinstall all of my software including WindowsXP. My
question is that I purchased my computer from CompUSA and
it came preloaded with XP. I have the O/S disk but I
don't know if I need a CD Key to install it. So I ask 2
questions: A.) If I reinstall will I need a Key, or B.)
Does anyone out there know how to get rid of this
spyware? Thanks for you help.
 
Visit shareware.com & search for ADAWARE. Download & run it - delete all
spyware.

Ad-Aware and Spybot Search&Destroy remove a great deal of spyware. Also,
Webroot's Spy Sweeper does a lot, too. http://www.webroot.com

I would get a hold of CompUSA and get your key for Windows, because at some
point (maybe even now) you will need that key. Check all of your
documentation and look on the computer itself for the key (Dell puts the key
on the computer itself).

Check your "Hosts" folder.Under folder views be sure "show hidden files and folders" is selected. Right click on start left on "explore" scroll down to the windows folder "near the bottom" expand it by clicking the + symbol,scroll down til you see the drivers folder and open it,next open "etc" this is your hosts folder delete everything that IS NO
"127.0.0.1 local hosts" That file you want to keep. You might see something like 127.0.0.1 SpotResult.com
Then get and run Spybot search and destroy the new version is 1.3 or ad-aware version 6 build 181 sorry I don't have links for you. But both can be found at www.downloads.co

See what this little tike did in a short time to your
computer. Can you just imagine what his home computer is
like???
