I have 2 hard disks, On the first one windows xp is
installed,
On the second one I installed w2000 and after I tried to
dual boot it with W98 se, wich was a big mistake, and it
failed

My problem now is that I can't access my first Hard disk
with Wxp and instead I receive a weird message stating
that W2000 is corrupted .
What shall I do

Hello Chris:

Not sure exactly what you did from your post, however, all three
operating systems are going place boot information on the first hard
drive (HD0) to the first primary active partition on that drive.
Also, Win98 must be installed to a FAT or FAT-32 partition, not NTFS.

With that in mind: The primary boot partition on HD0 should be
formatted to FAT or FAT-32. Install Win98 first, Win2000 second, and
lastly, XP. You should direct each operating system to install to a
separate partition or drive - remembering that each OS is going to
place boot information in that first partition. Never install two
operating systems in the same partition.

What may have happened to your setup is that you accidently over wrote
the XP\Win2000 boot sector when you tried to install Win98. Not
knowing exactly what happened or what you did, it's hard to give
advice. You may want to start over, but in any event go to this web
site and read up on how to do a repair install.

Lots of information which should help you out. Good luck.

Without knowing just how you did it, it is difficult to be certain what
is best, but the following should at least get the XP back, and ought to
get the 2000 as well.
First make sure that the BIOS setup is to boot first from CD, and next
from the XP drive - you may have changed that over to the other one in
your experiments.

Boot the XP CD and, instead of Setup, take the immediate R for Repair.
Assume any password requested is blank, and TAB over.. Do:

diskpart
list partitions
(to find the number, n associated with the XP partition - likely 1
but make sure)
select partition n
active
exit

BootCfg /Rebuild
Fixboot
FixMbr

and reboot, without the CD. The BootCfg should find the XP partition at
least, and may find the 2000 one. The result may leave you with a
boot.ini file that has surplus entries - but that can then be edited out
later
