Hyphen printing/projecting problem

I have been having problems with hyphens and dashes in Powerpoint.
Sometimes, they get scrunched up in the text. They overstrike the previous
character and scrunch the following two characters leaving a gaping hole in
the middle. I have experienced this problem in printing, slide show, and
normal view. Usually it happens in one view and not the other, but I've
experienced it in all three views and in different fonts. I am using
PowerPoint 2002. Any ideas?

Try checking for newer drivers on your video card and printer, then update
to the newest version of DirectX. These should resolve your problem.
