Hyperterm - cannot input with keyboard, can input with paste

I've run into a problem that has really got me stumped.

I'm running Windows XP Pro V2002 SP1 on a ThinkPad T40 and
am having problems getting Hyperterm to accept keyboard
input. At first I was debugging this as either a cable
problem or an issue with the device I was connecting to.
Then I tried pasting input into the program via "Paste To
Host" and was successful.

There is no problem with keyboard input on any other
program I'm running.

Any suggestions?

Install Hyperterminal Personal Edition. It's free, from
http://www.hilgraeve.com
and may work better for you.
