I use an old DOS editor for reformatting quoted text, and when I
paste the input into the application, it's glacially slow, even with
Fast Pasting checked in the shortcut properties. In 98, this was
almost instantaneous, so it's not a problem with the application,
but rather something about the way XP handles this.
Is there a way to speed this up in XP? I assume the paste operation
works by stuffing characters into the keyboard buffer, but I'm not
sure about that. Anyway, are there registry entries or other
settings that control pasting speed? Or maybe a way to assign more
time slices to the CMD window?
