Hyperlinks to Oulook 2007 not working

A

adele

Hi,

I wondered if anyone may be able to help on the following issue
(driving me crazy!)

I create a hyperlink to a Outlook Public Folder (by dragging the
folder onto a Word document).

When I click on this hyperlink ,I firstly get a message "Microsoft has
identified a potential security concern. The location may be unsafe.
Do you wish to continue?" I say 'Yes' and then an Internet Explorer
page is displayed with a "Cannot display this webpage" message.

This behaviour only happens in Office 2007 - when I log on to another
PC that has Office 2003 installed, I can click on the hyperlink and
the Outlook Public Folder is opened as expected.

Doe anyone have any ideas on this? Is there a setting on Office 2007
that would affect hyperlinks to Outlook?

Any help much appreciated,

Adele

I am using Office 2007. I create hyperlinks by dragging into
MS Word, I usually copy the link created into a message in
Outlook and send it on. It works.

Have you tried copying the link into an Outlook message and
testing it there? Does it work anywhere else or does the link
only not work in MS Word?

I will test this Monday, however I am unable to try it until then.

Hi - the link does indeed work if you drag it into a new message in
Outlook. So it only seems to be a problem from Word...

Any suggestions?

I was not aware of a problem with it in Word however on
Monday I will look into it and see what I can find out.

If you find something out in the mean time, please share.

Hi - haven't found anything further but the strange part of this is
that Word looks as if it doesn't know what the hyperlink is; it is
trying to open an Internet Explorer window rather than an Outlook
folder...

I had such a day! I totally forgot to check this. I am sending
this to my account and I will look.

Yep, it doesn't work for me in Word either. Hmmmm...

I'll poke around, but it appears to be a security issue.

I've been doing some searching: is it possible that it is a setting in
'Word Options' which is new in 2007??? I couldn't however figure out
what setting it might be...
