Hyperlinks to launch .exe applications does not work.

When creating hyperlinks to applications existing on our employees computers
such as "C/Program Files/Microsoft Office/OFFICE11/winword.exe†the links do
not work i.e. Microsoft Word will not launch.
Also FrontPage adds "file:///" to the above URL.

Thanks

We had it working at one time. I've used the launch .exe function
links many times. It seemed to stop working after doing maintenance on the
website. Our intranet site was built with FP95 and now maintained with FP02.

Our control panel has about twenty links on it. The way we use it
is to link to a database, lookup and copy a drawing number, then launch the
"drawing vault .exe" resident on our PC and paste the number to be looked up
and viewed. In this case we don't a document to link to as you suggested

Thanks

I've read this several times and am still pondering on how to properly answer it.

If drawing vault .exe is resident on each client machine, then clicking a link to a file
should launch the drawing vault.exe application with the file opened in it.

Is the file name for drawing vault.exe actually two words with a space??

If so that could be the problem because file names with spaces will cause links to break.
