hyperlinks - pdf's?

I have created a database that has 3000 lines and 10 columns – the 3000 lines
are the names of the stores that have contracts with our company – then each
column has information such as address, phone number etc. one of the columns
is a hyperlink – where I have linked the contract (scanned in pdf format).
Up until a few days ago everything was working fine – today when I click on
the hyperlink to see the contract I get a message saying “Microsoft access
cant follow the hyperlink because it couldn’t create the hyperlink objectâ€.
Does this have something to do with the memory of my server? Like has the
database become too “heavy†– should I scan the contracts in another format?
Should we upgrade the server memory?

I would appreciate any answers to this question – but please as simple as
possible – I am not an access or computer wiz!

Thanks

Bianca,

This is just general info as I have never experienced your specific error
and when I googled it I didn't come accross anything note worthy.

I would start by performing a compact and repair (Tools-Database
Utilities-Compact and Repair Database...)

Can you open the hyperlink in the table? or do you get the same message?

Thank you for your reply Daniel,

I just did the compact & repair you suggested - should I reboot my pc or
something after - because it still does not work!

and no I cant open it anywhere - not in the form or the table! I did do
something which I dont think is a solution but I saved one of the contracts
as jpeg and when I tried it out on the table it opened up no problem - but to
me that is not a solution because jpegs are bigger in kb that pdf's and if I
start to re-scan and save them and then the same thing happens.....well I
dont know what else to do - I also checked everywhere and I cannot find a
solution.
any more thoughts at your end.
regards
B
