Hyperlinks don't work

S

susan w

I've created hyperlinks in new webs in both 2002 &2003. In
both cases, the hyperlinks don't work! The "follow
hyperlink" takes me to the correct page but the hyperlink
itself highlights but goes nowhere. I've tried re-creating
the entire site several times and they still don't work.
Tried this morning with newly-installed 2003 and they
still don't work!
Thanks
Susan w.

Are using File Menu | Preview in Browser or the Preview tab?

I was using Preview Tab. They seem to work in browser.
Never had that issue before. Any advice other than to
always preview in browser?
Thanks

If you're not comfortable editing the registry,
copy the following to a blank notepad file.
Save the file to your desktop as fix.reg
Then double click the file to install the fix.

< start copy below>

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Application
Compatibility]
"Frontpg.exe"=dword:00000001

<end copy above>

Correct, but it was an IE update that disable this functionality.

You copied it correctly.
Try removing the line breaks.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\ApplicationCompatibility]

Needs to be all one line.

also if you're using Windows 2000 or XP change
REGEDIT4
to
REGEDIT5

although either should work.

Also the file must have a .reg extension, i.e.
file.reg or fix.reg
So make sure you use "save as" and not save
and select "All files" from the dropdown and then name it.

I've followed your instructions 5x with no results.
Everything other than what's in quotes is on one line as
you suggest. File saved as .reg within "all files".
REGEDIT5 changed from 4.
Any other suggestions?
Do I need to reboot the machine?
Thanks
Susan
