Hello all,

I have a an export from Access to Excel containing hyperlinks in a number of
fields..

once sent to another person 'displayed text' is correct but the destination
for the hyperlink is pointing to the wrong file (somewhere in the local 'my
documents' folder)

the 'displayed text' path is correct ...is there anyway to retain the
absolute path to a local folder?

eg. C:\path\folder\file

thanks!

What is sent to the other person, the Access database or the Excel
spreadsheet? Does C:\path\folder\file exist on the other person's machine?
I can't think that Access changed the path. This is a guess, not having
much experience with Excel, but maybe the program (Excel) didn't find the
correct path on the user's machine and so defaulted to the user's directory
or maybe it found a file with the same name and used that. Just some
ideas, since no one else addressed this.

God Bless,

Mark A. Sam

I had this once with a file someone else sent me and it kept changing back
to another location. Turned out they had copy and pasted a hyperlink from
one sheet to another and after saving it the referenced range hyperlink path
kept coming back. But if your creating a new spreadsheet file each time
this won't happen. If your reusing the same spreadsheet carefully inspect
named ranges and if there are any references to another cell/sheet in the
hyperlink underlying data.
