Calculated Hyperlink

It appears as though a "calculated" hyperlink does not work in forms.
For example, I have a document name in a hyperlink field within a table. As
long as this document name is fully qualified (full path name) it works.

However, if I have a textbox with properties set to "hyperlink", and I use a
string to define the file path name and concatenate it with the filename
only, the hyperlink does not work.

Does anyone know of a workaround to enabling calculated hyperlink text boxes
?
